The IT Power Plant is a collaborative partnership between campus IT organizations. In the past, colleges, departments, and units worked independently on IT efforts, often duplicating services and confusing customers. The goal of the IT Power Plant is to provide IT services and support in a more consistent, reliable, and cost-efficient manner by working together. This partnership aims to reduce the waste that comes from duplicated efforts.
Campus will benefit from easy access to robust technology services provided via the Power Plant. Students, faculty, and staff will receive improved and simplified IT support because of improved collaboration between IT organizations. Local IT staff will be able to focus more on directly helping their customers, as well as spend more time discovering new innovative technologies that their customers need.
